** One more time camping **

In  mid August we went up to Cultus one last time but this time with 3 other couples and their kiddies.

Here is our site. We got pretty good at setup after all the camping this summer.  We were only there for 4 nights and the weather was marvelous.
The days were full of the watching the kids who played together MARVELOUSLY!!! One boy is missing from this bunch of misfits!! These 3 are all going to Kindergarten together next fall ... eeeek!!
The girls crafting ... one is missing here too .... the S's must have been gone when I took the "kid" pictures. The girls ages are spread more than the boys but it worked out that everyone had a partner.
Then there were the four older trouble makers .... none of these boys are the same age but they got along great.  It is so neat to see friendships that form despite that.
We spent time at the beach ... it was so hot that even Jerry took a swim.
There was soooo much seaweed that the boys all worked together to get some of it outta the way!
That pile was stinking by the end of our trip ... eeeeewwww, maybe not such a bright idea!
It was the first time we have done this kind of trip ... it was SOOO very much fun!  Something we will try to plan again!!

=> T. Family Campout <=

End of July beginning of August we had our annual T. Family Campout ...

We took Sierra for one night ... we tried it, it was okay but won't likely do it again!

We celebrated Karina's 6th birthday on the 1st.

Nice a warm to spend time at the beach ...

Fun times as always ... Didn't take enough pictures but a few is better than none!

... Kamloops ...

On our way home from Shuswap we spent a night in Kamloops ... the kids kept busy in a little creek behind our campsite!  I don't think I have or will ever again make that many paper/tin foil/cardboard boats in my life!

They also found this "gem" ... eeeeekk!

The next day after checkout, we went to the big Canada Games pool in Kamloops for a couple hours then had some White Spot "Lupper" and hit the Highway back home again!

A good holiday!!

{ Shuswap }

In July, our family headed north east to Shuswap Lake for our family campout!

I took a "boat load" of pictures so I collaged some of the favs.

Here's is a run down of what we did
 at the beach in the water and playing in the sand .... reading (YES Jerry too ... he stole my book) ... playing Sudoku and Rummikub ... sitting by the fire ... eating (Shaun enjoyed the cherries) ... biking ... relaxing ... we even had Grandparents G visit ... we moved sites ... the little kidders fell asleep watching DVD "church"
... frisbee

Very nice campground! A Great time!!

< Indy 2012 >

The end of February Jerry, Ron, Heidi and I were off to Indianapolis for a business trip.  The guys had their annual Pumper Truck Convention to attend. Heidi and I spent a morning there this year.  I guess as the years progress we know a bit more each year ... some of it was actually interesting.  If we go next year we are considering taking in a few of the courses as well ... oh boy!!
 We had some fun as well .... because we were in a new city we had to do some more exploring and couldn't return to our old favorite from the last few years.  But there is always coffee ....
 We also had to arrange for a different hotel room ... we had ajoining rooms.  We ended up moving a table and chairs in one room for our evening/night card games ...
 Can't forget our Beemer!
We got stuck in some NASTY weather ... the nail stones were nearly marble size.  We parked the beemer under a gas station roof for the worst of it.  There were tornado warnings in the area ... and ones that hit not too far away ... eeek that made for some grumblies in the tummies.
 Lots of eating too ....
 *Slurp*, yummy pina coladas!!!
 Arcades ... we had to find something to do indoors ... and the guys were not up for shopping!!!
It was a different trip as Jerry and I also got sick ... plus being in a different city had its ups and downs.  But getting away from normal life is ALWAYS good for a recoop!!

Christmas 2011

We had a variety of Christmas functions this past December .... I forgot to use my camera for most of them ... hrumph! We did dinner with the T family in the school gym after ice skating and a yummy nibbly dinner with Grandparents G, and we did gift opening with just our kids plus a movie night .....

Presents weren't too big or exciting but they love presents ... it is exciting and fun!!

<= CUBA =>

In early December, we made a trip to warmer weather with my parents ... Cuba here we come!!

It was a beautiful relaxing holiday. Cuba is Cuba so I don't know if we'd go back .... there is so much more of the world to see .....

Here is a very brief overview ... I still need to swap pictures with my mom!!

Relaxing at the pool

Dinners out ... Japanese was the best and the most entertaining!!

An informative but long tour in Havana

Beach time :o)

Every night we played cards in the lobby and were had a variety of entertainers but mostly this sax player!

:: Decking the Halls ::

On Wednesday the kids were home because of Parent-teacher interviews so I thought it was a good enough day to deck our hall Christmas style. Bailey went home that morning so it was one less thing I had to monitor while she was visiting. The kids always love putting up the balls and whatnot ... I had to rearrange a few upwards but mostly it is their way! Everyone busy at work!
James hanging a ball.

I did the stockings up the stairs, stars, mini-tree & lights in our front middle upper window and the village in my bay window ... maybe before Christmas is over I'll post pics of those :o)

** Our U*S*A Trip **

This summer we headed off to the USA from August 15-23 .... whilst there are MANY things we could have done etc we really didn't DO a whole lot.

We spent lots of time at beautiful beaches, relaxed at campsites with coffee and hot chocolate, biked and drove in the truck. We spent one night in what we dubbed as "exit 52", then 2 nights in one site at Fort Stevens, and two more nights in another site there. Then we headed north to Olympia and spent 2 nights there. And our last night just outside of Seattle as we were headed to Woodland Zoo on our way home. We even had Jerry's parents meet us for 2 nights. It was a LOVELY family holiday and I can't wait to do it again!!

I have over 200 pictures so .... here is a small glimps of our time away ... sometimes I really wish I had one of those fancy smancy cameras!!! (I think they are in order!!)
First stop after waiting in the borderline for over 2 hours .... yum lunchtime!
"Exit 52" ... site unseen beautiful .... a little while later we realized train track on one side and I5 on the other ..... oh well they had plenty of amenties to enjoy for a good part of the next day!
Lots of room to bike!!
Our first beach experience ... the kids LOVED it!!!
Running down the beach ... it sure was an experience ... the sand is beautifully soft ... wonderful!

Sand castles .... James and Derek explored the beach in the middle of the pic. Unfortunately they couldn't get back unaided soI had to go in up around my waist level .... sigh!!!
Buried Dad in the sand ... we had a couple ladies chuckling a little way down the beach!!
Haystack Rock .... we didn't get a real good one cause the camera was acting up because of sand in it ... we didn't end up coming back as the beach near us was just as nice and this was a good 30-45 min drive!
These beaches are AMAZING!!! Look at the patterns in the sand ... wow! Sandcastle time .... among others!
