** doctoring **

Over the years, this "doctoring" has become a thing.
It started with Derek (I think I blogged this before) and has grown to include everyone.

I don't understand how Jerry can do it.  The other night I laid down too and they tried to "doctor" me.  I flinched and laughed it wasn't relaxing at ALL.  Jerry just lays there and rests/relaxes/sleeps!!

I guess "doctoring" is a Daddy thing!!

September 25. 2012

James turned 10

The morning of, we did the normal gift opening.
And then that following Friday, James had a double party at our house with a friend.
Gifts(mostly $ which he is still deciding on what to buy!)
Boys will be boys.
It was a good party.
It was nice weather so they spent most of the time outside.
LOVE IT!!

Book Character Day

Today (yup, today note the date!!) I send the kids off to school dressed up ...
Jolene - Anne of Green Gables
Derek - Robin Hood
Karina -  a Princess (pick whatever one suits you)
James -  Harry Potter

I find it a lot of work.  I am not one would leaves it to the last minute or I go nuts.  For the most part I am happy with it!  AND THEY LOVE IT!!

:o)

In September, Jerry was presented with a deal .... a boat deal
(yes we still have the old one ... it doesn't work!!!)

We are finally at a time where we can enjoy this as a family so we went for it.
With our late summer, we still had a chance to try it out.  Since Saturdays didn't work we planned it for after school.  We took dinner along and ate on the boat.
It was a good time.  Hopefully a taste of next summer!!

These two didn't enjoy it as much as some of the others .... they were holding on for DEAR life at first.  Karina didn't even want to eat out there ... she ate in the van on the way home :o)
I hope that gets better :o(
Jolene out on the tube.
and James.
We finally convinced Derek it would be fun .... as always once he tried it he was hooked.

Even I went out there!!  AMAZING I KNOW!!! No picture though, Jerry was driving and I don't like the kids to use the camera on land let alone in the boat above the water!!!
I guess I need to learn how to drive the thing so Jerry gets out in the water too!!!!

* School Starts *

This is definitely old news but here our the first day of school pictures .....
The walk ....
we walked up until it got just too cold and then the rain set in ...
now we drive!
We were really early and had time to fool around ...
it gave me lots of pictures to choose from :o)
See you later!! ....
Can you believe that next year ALL 5 will get on the bus?!?!

:: More Summer ::

Jerry celebrated his birthday in Mid August as well ... our morning birthday ritual for him too!!
Beans needed to be cut and blanched .... ALL the kids took their turns ending beans!!
Berries were picked.  Most were frozen but some were made into YUMMY sauce for waffles and topped with whipped cream!!

Karina - 6

August 1 was Karina's birthday.
Like many of those years we were camping ... we had a small celebration and presents.
First in the morning like we do at home before Dad (Jerry) went to work.
Then at coffee time Grandpa and Grandma G came up.  The cousins and aunts that were also camping walked over and we had coffee and "special candies" (instead of cake).
Once school started we had Karina's real party ....
she had to wait 6 weeks but once it FINALLY came she was pretty excited!
Yummy cake ... it's a purse.  The girls got it right so that is what matters!!
 Presents.
 Lots of play time.
The girls did so very well.
Karina was pretty tired by the end and it showed but in the end she loved having her friends over to celebrate.

--> Summer Randoms <--

The kids did a sleep over swap (actually many over the summer) with cousins.  Jolene and Larissa with Karina and Shaun did some shirt coloring .... Karina and Shaun shared a shirt!

Late Spring Sierra had a litter of pups .... so we had 7 of these running around.  The last ones took awhile to get rid of.  It is fun but I'm glad we are taking a break now.

The pool is getting a little small but it is still water and that is the fun part.  So between the pool, the sprinklers and water on the Trampoline the kids keep cool in the summer heat.

No words necessary here!

- a hike with friends -

In the first week of summer break, I got a call to see if we were interested in a hike on a local mount
.... casting all plans of clean up and summer holiday prep aside we packed a snack and were on our way!

The kids and all their energy!

The view of our city ... our house is in there somewhere.

15 kids under 11 .... 3 families :o)

 Shaun ... so cute.

It was a good morning ... a break from home! Should really do it again sometime.

- Kindergarten Graduation -

On the last Thursday, Karina had her "celebration" ....

This is her whole class (they were split in two though).

Receiving her diploma.

YAH ... going to grade 1!

The three cousins

Karina and her teacher.

You know the funny thing ... I actually had a tear or two ... my fourth child done Kindergarten!!! Wow, the next thing I know it will be Shaun.

< Hell's Gate Fieldtrip >

In the last week of school I went out with James' class yet on a field trip.  I had hoped to not go Hell's Gate cause I went last year with Jolene's class but the other field trips didn't work out for me .... It was a fun day and the pictures are pretty self explanatory.

< Barkerville Fieldtrip >

In June, I had the opportunity to go with Jolene's class to Barkerville.
The first collage is pictures during the drive and the time we spent at the school.
Then this was in Barkerville.

It was a fun trip and the kids did so great.  Memorable trip ....

** Sports Day 2012 **

At the end of May we had a beautiful day for JCS Sports Day.  Four kids to follow around took some scheduling but with no baby and Shaun doing as he pleased it was better than other years.  In 2 years, I will have all 5 kids to watch for 1 year.

James, Derek and Karina all ran in the relay ... and Jerry did for the parent team!!

All in all a good fun day!!
