James turned 10

The morning of, we did the normal gift opening.

And then that following Friday, James had a double party at our house with a friend.

Gifts(mostly $ which he is still deciding on what to buy!)

Boys will be boys.

It was a good party.

It was nice weather so they spent most of the time outside.

LOVE IT!!

:: More Summer ::

Jerry celebrated his birthday in Mid August as well ... our morning birthday ritual for him too!!

Beans needed to be cut and blanched .... ALL the kids took their turns ending beans!!

Berries were picked. Most were frozen but some were made into YUMMY sauce for waffles and topped with whipped cream!!

Karina - 6

August 1 was Karina's birthday.

Like many of those years we were camping ... we had a small celebration and presents.

First in the morning like we do at home before Dad (Jerry) went to work.

Then at coffee time Grandpa and Grandma G came up. The cousins and aunts that were also camping walked over and we had coffee and "special candies" (instead of cake).

Once school started we had Karina's real party ....

she had to wait 6 weeks but once it FINALLY came she was pretty excited!

Yummy cake ... it's a purse. The girls got it right so that is what matters!!

Presents.

Lots of play time.

The girls did so very well.

Karina was pretty tired by the end and it showed but in the end she loved having her friends over to celebrate.

* Dinner *

Mid Summer, the T. family adults did a dinner out .... for no real reason other than to celebrate eachother.

Jolene turned ELEVEN!!!!

We had the grandparents over for the evening before her birthday ...

my dad hand crafted her a jewelry box .... so special.

We had her morning present opening ....

And on Friday she had her friends over ...

and went bowling.

FUN TIMES ... GOOD MEMORIES!

We had a variety of Christmas functions this past December .... I forgot to use my camera for most of them ... hrumph! We did dinner with the T family in the school gym after ice skating and a yummy nibbly dinner with Grandparents G, and we did gift opening with just our kids plus a movie night .....

Presents weren't too big or exciting but they love presents ... it is exciting and fun!!

November 11, 2011 ~ Derek turned 7

Derek had his birthday party on the Thursday (10th) as his birthday always is on Remembrance Day. He had 4 boys over ... we started with a yummy snack and drink and then the boys went outside to play in the hay shed, on the bikes and whatnot before it got dark. Just before dinner we did hide and open the presents .... he got lots of precious new toys!

After a yummy pizza dinner, the boys (and our kids) got busy making their own ice cream sundae .... YUMMY!!!

On Friday morning we had the normal open presents routine. Derek is lucky as he will always have birthday on a holiday. We did head off this year to the cenotaph and the kids witnessed the memorial. It was learning morning ... after that rainy experience, we enjoyed a hot chocolate and timbits at Timmy's.

At night the grandparents came down for some more fun ....

September 25, 2011 ~ James 9th Birthday

This year we did James' birthday at the school with another boy who was born the day before James.

We invited all 13 boys (2 weren't there) plus my 3 younger kids.

It was different and had it's pros and cons compared to having a 4/5 boy party at home ....

Lots of hockey ...

Yummy frog cake ... those boys can sing LOUD; you can see even the birthday boys with their ears plugged!!

Then the morning of his birthday we did the normal family present thing ....

Plus the grandparents came that night ....

Lots of fun ... next year I have 2 in double digits ... eeeek!

School Starts

On Tuesday, school started again. It doesn't really feel like school should be on as the weather now is hotter than most of our summer was. Anyway here is the picture I took at the bus stop ...

Today was Karina's turn to go for the first time ....

She was pretty excited!!!

I've decided this year we are going to walk to the bus stop when we can because driving down the road is just silly ... why I've done it for 5 years is beyond me ... whatev, there is no time like the present!!

The sun didn't do good things for picture taking but you get the idea!

And then it was just me and Shaun. Today we were off to celebrate Addison's first year (what a blessing it is to celebrate) but who knows what kind of fun the little monster and I will have on the days Karina goes to school!! And I am going enjoy it ... well try at least!!

Karina turned FIVE!!!! C*R*A*Z*Y!!!!!

Karina had a bit of a looooong birthday celebration this year. Her birthday was on a holiday Monday. So that meant no normal party yet but the grandparents came down for a birthday bbq to help celebrate.
