:: More Summer ::

Jerry celebrated his birthday in Mid August as well ... our morning birthday ritual for him too!!

 Beans needed to be cut and blanched .... ALL the kids took their turns ending beans!! 

 Berries were picked.  Most were frozen but some were made into YUMMY sauce for waffles and topped with whipped cream!!

Since we were on the beaches of Oregon this past summer and the itty bitty sand got in my point and shoot we've been dealing with camera issues ... a week ago or so she "kicked the bucket" so we were on the hunt for a newbie ....

Jerry bought me a DSLR ... it is AMAZING!!! Lots more to work and bigger to carry around but she takes some beautiful pictures ....

Look at our veggie plate from dinner the other night ... LOVE IT!!!

Of course this means the "my paparazzi" days are over since the kids are NOT allowed to touch my new baby!!!

:: Pancakes ::

Since holidays have started I have made pancakes 3 or 4 times ...

The kids know this is something we get on a weekday as it is not Jerry's favorite breakfast. They always ask for the baby pancakes or the rollup kind which are both more work then the regular ones ....

but on Monday I gave in ....

I have been working alot with yeast lately.
I don't know if it is the ridiculous price of bread plus speed that we go through the stuff or if I am just enjoying working in my kitchen.
Things like bread, cinnamon buns, raisin bread & buns, braided bread, cheese bread ...

And then there is the recipe I just CANNOT master ... errrrg!
One day I will get Mrs. B's recipe right!!! I promise!!
